From: Ross Olson [ross@rossolson.org] Sent: Tuesday, April 21, 2009 9:47 AM To: Editor Star Tribune (opinion@startribune.com) Subject: Choice Ruth Marcus thinks that making abortion illegal will eliminate free will ("What Palin's Decision Says About Choice" 4/21/09.) By that line of reasoning we should eliminate laws about speeding, stealing and slander. Of course people have choices about all things, legal or illegal. So why do we have laws? To protect people from harming themselves or others and hopefully give pause to a dangerous decision. Ms. Marcus, I challenge you to thoroughly investigate the post-abortion syndrome -- a serious post traumatic stress disorder that causes distress for decades in a high percentage of the women and men who choose abortion. A short term "solution" is seen in the light of day for what it really is... killing one's own children. Ross S. Olson MD Send comments to me at ross{at}rossolson.org The URL for this document is |
