From: Ross Olson [ross@rossolson.org] Sent: Wednesday, March 11, 2009 10:02 AM To: Editor Star Tribune (opinion@startribune.com) Subject: Cradle To Career Education Cradle To Career Education In President Obamas's education plan, I missed seeing one important piece, vouchers. Instead he calls for a nationalized, standardized curriculum, obligatory for the entire next generation. The Obama's sent their own daughters, not to a public or charter school, but to Sidwell Friends, a private Quaker school with a track record of success. Yet the President gives no indication that he will allow that choice to poor and middle income Americans. And that successful school the Obamas chose is one that promotes their own values. The compulsory education he envisions will almost certainly include things many parents oppose, such as one world government, radical environmentalism, sexual license (with proper protection), homosexuality as an equal alternative to heterosexuality, evolution taught without any of the contrary evidence and the removal of any mention of God from the entire curriculum.
