From: ross{at}rossolson.org Sent: Thursday, May 30, 2024 12:04 PM To: opinion{at}startribune.com Subject: End of Life Options Dr. Joanne Roberts provided a thoughtful opinion on the End-of-life Options Bill (Star Tribune 5/30/2024). One aspect of the issue was omitted, probably because it is thought to be covered by the proposed safeguards. To the sensitive, thoughtful person a common motivation is “to not be a burden to my family.” The end of life is an important time for tying up affairs, not just financial but social and spiritual. Parts of those tasks may be uncomfortable and a person may wish to avoid that which is better faced. Ross S. Olson MD Send comments to me at ross{at}rossolson.org The URL for this document is |
