Subject: fatherlessness
Why did the article on violent youth by Tara Grassia (August 2004) not mention fatherlessness as a risk factor? She vaguely cited "sociological influences starting in the home" which probably includes absence of a father, but failled to pin down the seriousness of this major influence. She did go into detail attempting to indict spanking. David Blankenhorn's Fatherless America is a good resource that unmasks the politically correct but scientifically disastrous myth that fathers are superfluous.
