From: Ross Olson Sent: Monday, July 21, 2008 To: Editor Star Tribune (opinion@startribune.com) Subject: Right of conscience No one wants an ethically compromised physician, yet that is exactly what many pro-choice and "right to die" groups want to produce by mandating for all medical providers both training and practices that are ethically repugnant to some. It may not be an ethical issue for others, but for those to whom it is, to be forced to compromise their conscience is a totalitarian move that will eventually drive some providers out of practice and callous the consciences of others. Efforts to maintain and strengthen right of conscience for all medical providers need to be supported. Thank you. Ross S.
