Don't be a stranger...
You would think that those who care about north Minneapolis would welcome help from anywhere for their at-risk youth. Not only does well-known anti-Christian columnist Doug Grow (5/19/07) equate evangelism with abuse, but Jackie Cherryhomes, described as a member of Fellowship Missionary Baptist church, said, "Talking to kids in the park is just wrong. Talking to kids about religion is even worse."
Facts may be politically incorrect but Jesus DID say to preach the gospel everywhere. Developing a strong Christian faith in the next generation is one of the few strategies that just might pull our inner city out of self-destruct mode. It is too late to provide most of those kids with a married mother and father.
