The Magic Mirror

Lord, make in me a clean and tender heart
That honesty may answer all reproofs.
Not only kind suggestions would I heed
But likewise insults reeking of abuse.

Throw out the magic mirror that calls me "fair"
And censors any word that claims "not so."
Then let me see my faults within Thy Word,
Revealed as I am ready, as I grow.
