Poetry: Love Poems

KARIN

Yes, Karin, when I saw you first,
A young and lovely mystery,
Intelligent, without a doubt,
And strong. You faced what others flee.

And I knew not why that, to me,
Would such a central virtue be.

But years and tears have made their mark.
Together we have felt the wind,
And found, revealed, the depth of care
That foresight only hinted then.
The you and I became a "we."
And we then raised a family.
